📌 Michael Dunahee (Victoria, British Columbia) — 1991

Age at disappearance: 4

On March 24, 1991, Michael vanished from the playground at Blanshard Elementary School in Victoria while his family was nearby. The disappearance sparked one of the largest missing-child investigations in Canadian history, with thousands of tips over the years.

Despite exhaustive searches, public campaigns, and ongoing community involvement, there has never been a confirmed sighting or recovery of physical evidence explaining what happened. Michael’s case remains open, and his family continues to advocate for answers.

📌 Nicole Morin (Etobicoke / Toronto, Ontario) — 1985

Age at disappearance: 8

On July 30, 1985, Nicole left her apartment to meet a friend in the lobby and never arrived. Despite Toronto’s largest missing-person search at the time, no physical evidence has explained her disappearance.

Decades later, Nicole’s case still resonates with Torontonians and Canadians nationwide. Investigators continue to appeal for information, and periodic public attention renews hope that someone may come forward with a crucial tip.

📌 Melanie Ethier (New Liskeard / Temiskaming Shores, Ontario) — 1996

Age at disappearance: 15

In the early hours of September 29, 1996, Melanie was walking home in New Liskeard (now Temiskaming Shores) when she disappeared. Multiple searches and appeals have followed, generating hundreds of tips.

Even with community persistence and renewed calls for information over the years, no remains or conclusive evidence have been recovered. Melanie’s family and advocates continue to keep her story alive in hopes of answers.

📌 Mekayla Bali (Yorkton, Saskatchewan) — 2016

Age at disappearance: 16

Mekayla was last seen on April 12, 2016, in Yorkton. Surveillance images helped establish parts of her movements that day, but investigators have not been able to determine what happened afterward.

Despite national attention, extensive searches, and rewards offered, Mekayla has not been found. Her case remains open, and authorities continue to seek information from anyone who might have seen or spoken with her.
