The Kugluktuk RCMP and local volunteers are actively searching for 11-year-old Jonas Klengenberg, who was reported missing by his family on August 1, 2024. He left his home in the early morning hours and has not been seen since.

🔍 Search Efforts
The search is being led by the RCMP, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Kugluktuk Search and Rescue, and community volunteers. Ground searches are being carried out on foot and with ATVs, while boats and a scuba diver are searching the river.
Coast Guard Auxiliary unit leader Jack Himiak reported high winds hampering boat efforts but emphasized ongoing dedication to finding Jonas. A mannequin was released in the river to help track potential float patterns, aiding the search strategy.
